Section 75

Immediately the monstrous creature enfolds you within its writhing limbs. Striking back, you force yourself out of its grasp but the Trippet is hungry and it advances once again, reaching out in an attempt to sweep your feet out from beneath you. This attack you avoid, however the beast has no intention of letting you go. In a renewed effort limbs flail outwards, and for a time you succeed in keeping yourself free of their grasping reach. It is unfortunately, a battle that you do not win.

From out of the pool a tentacle writhes along the stone floor and entwines itself about your ankle. Raising your weapon to strike back another grabs at its haft and wrenches it from your hands. Weaponless you grab at the limb, but it is a respite the Trippet uses without hesitation. From out of the darkness a flurry of limbs reach out and take a firm hold upon you, crushing the life from your body even as it drags you into the dark domain that is its home.

In this damp chamber you quest comes to an end, your life ended as a substantial meal for the Trippet. In another life you may indeed have better luck, but as your head disappears beneath the murky waters your only consolation resides in the small hope that the monster will choke on you.
