Section 89

There is a chance that something useful may be found here, the ground littered with the refuse of generations of mining activity and human habitation. Amongst the rock piles you find rusting metal and the remains of tools and other equipment, but there is also evidence here of more recent visitors.

Tramped into the loose dust and grit you can see tracks, the heavy footfalls of both men and Hordim criss-crossing the cavern, making for the different exits or searching amongst the large falls of stone. It is a curious thing to find such sign here in this dark place, but it also gives you cause to move carefully. You have no intention of arousing the ire of the Horde, nor do you wish to trust anyone other than one of the Brethren here either. You grasp your weapon all the firmer as you make your way deeper into the chamber.

Intent on your search you find the remains of a sluicing board, a device that separates nuggets of silver from loose rock, and as you survey its crumbling structure the first sign of danger begins to grow in the ground beneath you. In a trembling shudder, the floor shifts sideways, sending a vibrating ripple through the stone. Overhead the ceiling cracks and groans, and almost before you can react a huge piece of stone crashes down. In a split second it will hit you.
