The Final Eliminations
Silence filled the pavilions and the arena, every man, woman and child present waited for the announcement of which two Squires would be eliminated. Letting the anticipation build, the Herald spoke a few quiet words to the Scribe, who replied with whispers and a nod. Turning back to look upon the assembled competitors before him, the King's Herald spoke the name of the first Squire to be eliminated in the Final Eliminations.
"Seretuon, step forward!" Commanded the King's Herald. Doing as he was asked, Seretuon stepped forward so that he was in front of his brothers at arms. As with the Squires eliminated before him, he had a look of sadness, but also pride upon his visage.
After a short moment of silence once more, the King's Herald announced the name of the last Squire to be eliminated in the Final Eliminations. "Ulric Von Licktenstein, step forward!" Stepping forward so that he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Seretuon, Ulric Von Licktenstein awaited his formal elimination.
"To come as far as you have speaks much of your abilities. However, only eight may remain for the Trial of Strength. Therefore, Seretuon and Ulric Von Licktenstein, you are both hearby eliminated from the Tournament. Return to your Lords and continue your travels." The Marshalls then performed their duty, taking the shields from Seretuon and Ulric Von Licktenstein and placing their shields upon hooks.
"The eight of you who remain are truly worthy of becoming Knights. The True Trials shall begin in one week. Prepare yourselves to battle the hardest you ever have, for one defeat in the Trials of Strength, Honour and Steel will mean elimination. For now, however, celebrate your acheivement, but remember what the future holds..."
