The Third Eliminations
With the ending of Round Four, it was now time for the Third Eliminations to be announced. Each Squire could feel the anticipation in the air as they waited for the names of those who would be eliminated to be called out. After a few short, hushed words with the Scribe, the King's Herald addressed the first Squire to be removed in the Third Eliminations, "Gillrod de Moss, step forward!"
Gillrod de Moss, who had a look of disappointment and frustration set on his features, stepped forward so that he stood alone before his brothers-at-arms. A deep bruise marked the side of his face where he had been wounded a mere hour or so before. After a moment of waiting, the King's Herald's voice rung out once more, "Artois Atrove, step forward!" Upon hearing this, Artois Atrove stepped forward to join Gillrod de Moss. and they stood shoulder-to-shoulder.
"Though you have done well to come this far, it has been decided that you are not yet ready to take the mantle of a Knight upon your shoulders. Therefore, Gillrod de Moss and Artois Atrove, you are both hearby eliminated from the Tournament. Return to your lords and continue to train, for one day you shall be ready. Until then, farewell." As the Herald finished his speach, both Gillrod de Moss and Artois Atrove turned and grimly handed their shields over to the Marshalls before turning to leave the arena. The Marshalls then proceeded to hang the sheilds upon hooks next to those of the previously eliminated Squires.
As the crowd began the slowly leave the pavilions, all knew that in one week, the battles would continue...
